Personal finance, read properly

Your money, in plain English.

Mint links your accounts, sorts every transaction, and then does the thing no other budgeting app does — it reads your actual tax forms and statements, and tells you what they mean.

Mint reads your money. It never moves it.

What's inside

01 / Connect

Link an account. Everything else is automatic.

Connect your banks and cards through Plaid's secure token exchange. From then on Mint syncs in the background, sorts each transaction into a category, and picks out the charges that quietly repeat every month.

  • Automatic transaction sync and categorisation
  • Recurring-charge and subscription detection, tuned against false positives
  • One dashboard: balances, spend, and every subscription you forgot about
  • Alerts for new subscriptions, upcoming charges, and low balances

02 / Plan

Budgets you'll actually keep, goals you'll actually hit.

Set a monthly limit per category and watch it fill in real time. Mint warns you as a category gets close instead of after you've blown past it, and rolls your accounts into one net-worth number that moves with you.

  • Category budgets with live progress
  • Savings goals — "$3,000 for a trip by December" — tracked to the dollar
  • Net worth across every linked account, with a trend line
  • Month-over-month trends, top merchants, and unusual-spend flags

03 / Remember

Your own financial data bank.

Most apps show you a snapshot. Mint keeps the whole record — every expense normalised into date, merchant, category, amount and source account, organised per bank account and retained in full. Budgets, insights, and every AI answer read from that one source of truth, so the numbers agree with each other.

The part no one else does

Mint reads the documents your bank feed can't see.

A transaction feed knows you spent $84 on delivery. It has no idea you sold crypto in March, that your 1099-DIV shows qualified dividends, or what your last return says about your withholding. Upload the documents, and Mint does.

What it means: this is short-term, so it's taxed as ordinary income. Nothing was withheld — put about $180 aside now and April stops being a surprise.

Four steps, in this order

From sign-up to something useful.

STEP 01

Link

Sign up with MFA and connect your banks and cards through Plaid. Your credentials go to your bank, never to us.

STEP 02

Sync

Mint pulls your history, normalises every expense, and files it by account. That record is kept in full, not sampled.

STEP 03

Upload

Drop in your 1099s, returns, and statements as PDFs or photos. Mint recognises the form and pulls the figures out.

STEP 04

Understand

Budgets, goals, net worth, and plain-language guidance — written against your whole picture, not just last month's card spend.

Stop guessing where it went.

Link your accounts, upload your documents, and let Mint tell you the truth about your money — in a sentence you'd actually repeat to a friend.

Mint's analysis is informational and educational. It helps you understand your finances and prepare for tax season — it is not a substitute for advice from a licensed tax professional or financial advisor. Mint reads and analyses your financial data; it does not move money.
